Palliative care is the multi-disciplinary approach to relieve sufferings in patients with  life-threatening illnesses such as advanced cancers, aiming to improve their overall quality of life.

Most established cancer centres, including Parkway Cancer Centre,  have a Specialist Palliative Care Service, comprising  a multi-disciplinary team of Specialists in Palliative Medicine, Palliative Care Nurses, Counsellors and other allied health professionals.  The team will work together with the cancer specialists, not only to provide the best possible cancer treatment options, but also to look into the other needs of patients and their family, through early identification of pain and other physical, psychosocial and spiritual problems patients and their family may experience.
